Sunshine is so great. The size of my living space doubles when the sun is out. I set up a big table in the backyard and we use it a lot. A couple of nights ago I had some friends over and experimented with some new recipes. I had fun making the table pretty just in case the recipes didn’t turn out because if the package is pretty who cares what’s inside, right? The blueberry chutney on crostini turned out great!
I have never been able to figure out what to do with this wire basket. It was just so big. Then one day I walked into my backyard and realized it would work great out there holding lots of little plants!
I had a pocket full of birthday money so off to the plant store I went. My plan was to get succulents but found I couldn’t resist some herbs and some plain old cute plants. It’ll probably end up a disaster when some grow and grow and grow out of their new home.

Some time ago an old friend of mine got engaged and that meant….I got to throw a party!! One of my very favorite things to do. I apologize for the lack of quality of the photos as it was long before I had a decent camera.
The craft station had lots of little wooden people who were to be painted as the bride and groom. The bride was going to be wearing a beautiful teal blue dress which made the painting even more fun. She ended up decorating her wedding cake with all the mini brides and grooms.
My favorite party decor was the clothesline in the garden where the party was held. I filled it with vintage lingerie and a crochet piece with the bride’s name on it that my mother had made years before.
I hope you are enjoying your garden as much as I am mine. Cross your fingers that I get out and water enough. Why oh why is it so challenging for me sometimes? I have lived in this garden for 10 springtimes. I am always so tickled when the bleeding hearts come back. Look! The lilacs are blooming again. There used to be daffodils among the tulips but the squirrels snacked on the bulbs. Thankfully they didn’t like the tulips. Those forget-me-nots remind me of a dear friend every year! The backyard project is almost complete. It gets rearrange almost every year. Maybe this year will be my favorite. I’ll show you when it is finished.
I am always struggling with what to put on my coffee table. It is an old, wooden door from a lumber mill in Eastern Oregon. I love it. I would prefer to have a fabulous carpet underneath to really allow the beauty of the wood to shine but, alas, it sits on a hardwood floor next to a dog that thinks all carpet is lawn.
The table often has coffee on it. The struggle is with what to have with the coffee. Feet. There are feet upon it, too. I decided to grab a bunch of things from around my house and play with different vignettes. Which is your favorite?
