Holy Cow! I forgot to finish up reporting on my Instagram alphabet project. I was sad when it was over. My husband came home with a pocket full of horse chestnuts for our letter T. The wooden thread spools are from my grandma’s sewing box.
More letters coming your way straight from my instagram feed! Catch the beginning of the alphabet here and here. This week featured a K made from old Singer sewing machine parts. L was a collection of little figurines made of wood or china. Hazelnuts made my M. N was office supplies. I actually said this to my husband, “I’d give my firstborn for some paper clips”. He found me 3! Sorry, Allison. I wouldn’t really trade you for paperclips. Great Grandma’s buttons became an O.
Post your alphabet letters along with me on instagram and tag me so I can see!!
Each morning I wake up excited to begin the day. I leap out of bed, grab a cup of coffee, get my camera and capture a piece of the alphabet for my Instagram feed. Ha! Honestly it has been fun hunting down alphabetical images. See what you think. I’ll be posting a week’s worth every Friday until we reach Z.Here are a few images from each day’s letter images. My grandniece helped my hunt down some of them. My kitty is innocent. The tree trunk in the garden is not. It also ripped my dress!
I love social media sites. They are filled with sweetness and humor and fun. I know there is also lots of junk but I find it very easy to avoid all that. Clever, creative people are everywhere and it seems amazing and miraculous to me that we all have daily access to see their work and contribute to all that creativity, too. Instagram is my favorite (my daughter just rolled her eyes – she says I’m obsessed). I love when the accounts I follow on Instagram are traveling and posting photos along the way. All the pets and babies and gardens and….oh the food! Here are some of my favorites:
Just look at that sweet little hedgehog!!!
A really talented photographer named Lisa Warninger who lives in Portland, OR posts great photos.
Lisa Congdon is an artist living in San Fransisco who travels a lot and posts generously. Currently she is in Paris on her honeymoon.
Bri Emery has a lot of fun on her Instagram account.
I love Julie Andrews and someone has very kindly opened an account that posts photos of her. It’s so nice having a cheerful photo of dear Mary Poppins or Maria pop up now and then.
Oh my word. Talk about clever. This guy has all kinds of series that he does all while walking his dogs in his neighborhood. Every Friday is #frightfulfrontporchfriday. Then there is #pdxportals and #pdxchairs plus a million more.
I never thought of farmers as being tattooed young women. Lots of great photos of pigs, goats and lambs. Oh, and this weekend she got her bottom tattooed.
Just look at that kitty!
I am not entirely sure about how all this started but I think this guy spent a year traveling around with his dog and used Instagram as a diary. The photos of the dog are priceless. I saw his book from it all at Powell’s.
Really great design in every picture. I mean this is just a rumbled bed but she really has a great eye and it is almost entirely black and white. Not black and white film but black and white decor. Plus, don’t you just want to take a nap in that bed?And then there is my account, of course.
I had a busy weekend. I had some cute girls over on Friday so I made a salad bar for dinner.
We played around with a fun app called Snap Chat
Are you on Instagram? They have video now!
We met a cute dog. My husband added the hat.
What did you do this weekend?
